About Daphodill Farm

Daphodill Farm is a women-owned small farm located in Magnolia, Texas. Owned and operated by Daphne Bicaise, the farm is the culmination of over 15 years of dedicated experience in agriculture. Daphne’s journey began in her early twenties, helping her family build a thriving farm business, followed by work on various farms around the Houston area. For nearly five years, she has been passionately running Daphodill Farm, focusing on organic growing practices.

Daphne’s passion lies in growing nourishing food for her family and community, guided by a commitment to land stewardship and regenerative farming practices. Her vision is to cultivate a farm rooted in health, sustainability, and community, creating a vibrant and driven regenerative farming community. At Daphodill Farm, the goal is to promote healthy eating, sustainable land use, and a deep respect for nature’s land.

Join our Farm Crew!

As a valued member of our farm crew, you will be actively involved in a wide range of responsibilities, from working at the wash station to tending the fields. This role is physically demanding and requires working outdoors in all weather conditions, often challenging both your body and mind. Expect to be engaged and moving throughout each day, as our intensive farming methods enable us to produce exceptionally high yields of vegetables per acre!

While our approach is more physically demanding than traditional farming styles, it offers plenty of opportunities for enjoyment, learning. We think you're going to be a radishing addition to the team!

This position has the potential for year-round employment, providing a unique opportunity for ongoing involvement and personal growth within our dynamic farm environment. As part of the Farm Crew, you’ll also have opportunities to explore specialized roles such as propagation manager, pack shed supervisor, irrigation specialist, and more.

Farm Crew Daily Tasks

🗡️ Harvesting: Hand-harvesting crops using harvest knives and mechanical tools.

🌱 Cultivation: Hoeing and hand-weeding fields to promote healthy growth.

🚜 Transplanting: Moving seedlings into fields and greenhouse for optimal growth.

🌾 Weeding: Keeping crop rows, greenhouse, and fields free of weeds.

💧 Irrigation: Managing watering systems by moving, assembling, and disassembling pipes.

🌳 Property Maintenance : Mowing, weed whacking, and general upkeep of the farm grounds.

🛑 Soil & Weed Management: Moving silage tarps for weed control purposes.

🔧 Special Projects: Assisting with various farm initiatives and development activities.

🥗 Greens Preparation: Washing, spinning, and air-drying salad greens for harvest.

📦 Packing & Weighing: Preparing produce for markets and distribution.

🧼 Sanitation: Cleaning and sanitizing equipment, refrigerators, and work surfaces.

🎉 Market Support: Participating in farmers markets, farm stand sales, and on-farm events.

Crew Member Expectations

⏰ Punctuality: Arrive on time consistently and reliably.

📝 Attention to Detail: Follow instructions carefully and stay attentive.

📅 Seasonal Commitment: Work throughout the entire season.

💪 Physical Fitness: Maintain good physical condition; capable of lifting up to 50 lbs.

🌦️ Adaptability: Handle seasonal and weather challenges with flexibility.

🤝 Team Spirit: Foster a positive, supportive, and collaborative environment.

💬 Openness to Feedback: Accept constructive criticism positively and use it to improve.

🗣️ Communication: Communicate clearly and respectfully with teammates and managers.

Crew Member Expectations

  • Full-time position, 35-40 hours per week, Mondays-Fridays, and/or Saturdays with occasional Sundays to water the farm and greenhouse.

  • Part-time position, 15–25 hours per week (2–4 days per week).

  • Early morning starts (as early as 6 AM in summer).

  • Some weekend work for farmers markets and special events.

  • Seasonal position with potential for year-round employment.

  • Must be reliable and dedicated to the full farming season.

June-December
